Why I Started Tribes Gorilla Trekking Tours

My name is Kkunsa Brian George, and the story of Tribes Gorilla Trekking Tours is deeply personal.

I lost my mother when I was only four years old. Soon after, my father abandoned me while living in the UK. I grew up moving between the homes of relatives, piecing together my mother’s memory through the stories people told me—about her kindness, her love for people, her passion for conservation in Uganda, and her joy in travel and adventure.

Those stories became my compass. They shaped my dreams and gave me a vision of the kind of life I wanted to live: one rooted in compassion, exploration, and purpose.

A Journey of Resilience and Purpose

With the support of many generous people, I was able to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality. Along the way, I discovered that my mother’s spirit lived on in me—through my love for nature, my curiosity about the world, and my desire to help others.

To honor her legacy, I founded the Nakiganda Bernadette Foundation, which supports orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda, while also skilling young people to create brighter futures.

But my journey didn’t stop there. Travel has always been in my blood. I love adventure, meeting new people, and creating opportunities for others to experience the beauty of Uganda. That passion led me to establish Tribes Gorilla Trekking Tours—a company that is more than just about safaris. It’s about connection, conservation, and community impact.

Innovation Meets Adventure

Beyond travel, I also founded Sausage Tree Pictures Studio in Bulenga, a software company building systems that make life easier in Africa. I’m known as Safari Coder Ug, and my projects bridge technology with tourism and community empowerment:

  • Africa Tour Market – connecting local tour guides directly with tourists.

  • Ku Nasser – linking creatives with corporate clients for gigs and projects.

  • Sosho Chat – a social app giving Ugandan youth a fun, safe space to connect.

These innovations reflect my belief that technology and tourism can work hand in hand to transform lives.

Giving Back Through Every Journey

At Tribes Gorilla Trekking Tours, every trip you take has a purpose. 10% of every booking goes directly to support the Nakiganda Bernadette Foundation, helping orphans, vulnerable children, and youth in Uganda.

When you trek with us, you’re not just exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Uganda—you’re becoming part of a movement that uplifts communities, protects wildlife, and honors a legacy of love and kindness.

“Travel is not just about where you go, but the lives you touch along the way.”

Welcome to Tribes Gorilla Trekking Tours. Join me in this journey of adventure, conservation, and impact.
