Detailed Safari:
Day 1: Pick up from Airport and transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
You are expected to arrive a night before the safari or have an early morning landing. The assigned
tour driver/guide will pick you up and depart for Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a
guided trek on the sanctuary to see the only rhinos in the wild in Uganda. We shall then Transfer
to Murchison Falls National Park.
The park is home to most of Africa’s famous wildlife including buffaloes, lions, hyenas, hippos,
crocodiles, leopards and various species of antelopes. Murchison falls National Park is a birders
paradise with species like the rare shoebill stork and others that we will mention later on.
There are six species of primates found in the park including baboon and chimpanzees.
In general, the main activities in Murchison Falls National Park are visiting the Murchison Falls,
game drives, nature walks, fishing, chimpanzee trekking, boat cruises and birding.

The mid-range hotels will be Murchison River Lodge and Fort Murchison.

Day 2: Game drive and Afternoon Launch cruise
Wake up early and take breakfast as you wait for the driver to take you for an early morning game
drive at the Nyamsika plateau. The purpose of this game drive is to catch the early morning risers
and 5 days Murchison falls safari predators retiring back into their dens after hunting in the night.
Expect to spot warthogs, the Uganda kob, sitatunga antelope, Rothschild’s giraffes, oribi, Hartebeest, Cape buffaloes, bushbucks, bush pigs, bush duikers and Bohor reedbucks. The predators to look out for are lions, spotted hyenas and leopards.
After the morning game drive, the Driver/Guide will take you back to the hotel for lunch and
refreshment as you prepare for the boat cruise along the Nile. The boat cruise starts from the bottom of the park and goes on upstream up to the bottom of the falls. The starting point has an amazing collection of wildlife. Expect to see crocodiles, water bucks and hippos in their thousands.
You can see many of the park animals gather to drink and bathe along the River Nile.
This section of the Nile is one of the best places for birding in Uganda.
You can spot saddle-bill storks, shoebill storks, pelicans, kingfishers, hornbills, goliath herons, Egyptian geese, cormorants, and bee-eaters. The journey continues upstream and close to what is
known as the “Devil’s Cauldron”. This is an excellent place for taking photos of the beautiful falls
from a great angle. After viewing the falls from this angle, you will disembark from the boat and
climb up to the top of the falls.

Day 3: Game drive and Transfer to Jinja City
Have an early cup of tea with a snack and head to the park for the game drive to watch the animals and beautiful savanna landscape. Commonly sighted animals include Lions, Hyena, Giraffes,
Buffaloes, Warthogs, Hippos, and several species of Antelope. For the birdwatchers you will observe many savanna species, the Abyssinian Ground Hornbills and Northern Carmine Bee-eaters are a common sight. The game drive is about 4 hours long, and then you shall return to the lodge for relaxation. Check out and transfer to Jinja City.

Day 4: Source of the Nile and Horse Riding along the Nile
You will then transfer to the Source of the monument, enjoy nice views across Lake Victoria and observe plenty of water birds and other wildlife. Thereafter you shall go out and wind up the day with a thrilling evening Horse riding in the countryside along the River Nile. The Horse riding adventure will take you through the lush countryside and see how the people live, enjoy wonderful views of the Nile as it simmers through the beautiful landscape.
Horse riding is safe, and you get to have some training before setting off. We shall visit Itanda falls, then we shall have camp campfire and Goat Roasting.
Day 5: Zip-line in Mabira forest
In addition to the nature walk in Mabira forest you can do the thrilling Canopy Super Skyway zip-line. This adventure has you cruise through the forest tops like a monkey give you such an adrenaline rush. The zip-line also gives you an insight into canopy and see wildlife such as monkeys and birds which are not easy to see from the ground. We shall then transfer back to the Airport

Day 6: Kibale Forest
Start your day with an early morning briefing at the park headquarters, where you’ll learn about the chimp trekking process. Afterward, you’ll go on a guided walk through the forest, searching for chimpanzees while gaining insights into the park’s diverse flora and fauna.
Once you locate the chimpanzees, you’ll spend time observing their natural behaviors, including feeding and communicating with their distinctive calls. After your trek, relax at your lodge, where you can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Afternoon yoga session before dinner.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Along the way, you’ll pass through Ishasha, known for its fascinating tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch en route before continuing on to the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where the adventure truly begins.
Gorilla trekking in Uganda is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that allows you to get up close with the majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The adventure begins with a briefing by a park ranger, who will explain the guidelines for tracking and interacting with the gorillas. Once the trek begins, you’ll navigate through the dense, mist-covered forests of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
As you trek deeper into the forest, the excitement builds, knowing that you are about to encounter one of the last remaining mountain gorilla families. The guided trek offers more than just the gorillas; the rangers will share their knowledge about the forest’s rich ecosystem, including the various plants, animals, and bird species that inhabit the area.
When you finally encounter the gorillas, you will witness their incredible social dynamics, watching them interact, feed, and relax. Spending an hour with these gentle giants is a truly humbling experience that offers a glimpse into their peaceful, close-knit family life. The forest itself, often referred to as the “Blind Forest” due to its dense, foggy atmosphere, adds an element of mystery to the journey. The misty air and lush greenery create an otherworldly atmosphere, enhancing the magical experience of trekking to see the gorillas.
The trek through Bwindi is not just about the gorillas; it’s a journey through a living, breathing ecosystem, where every step you take brings you closer to nature in its rawest form. It’s an adventure that stays with you long after you leave the forest. Get a good nights rest cause this is what you will experience tomorrow!

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking
Today is the big day you have been waiting for. After breakfast and armed with a packed lunch you will make your way to the tracking starting point for a briefing. You will be assigned a gorilla family and ranger team who will accompany you as well as meet the other tourists joining, a maximum of 8 tourists per Gorilla Family. This activity can take from 2-9 hours and will spend 1 hour with the Gorillas. In the evening, you will have a yoga session at the lodge followed by dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you’ll head to Lake Mburo, about a 7-hour drive, with a lunch stop in Mbarara along the way. If you depart early, you’ll arrive at the lodge by the afternoon, giving you time to check in, unwind, and soak in the stunning views. With a swimming pool and a serene setting overlooking the park, this lodge is the perfect place to relax on your final night in Uganda. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 10: Transfer to Entebbe
This morning, the final adventure – a guided walking safari! Led by an armed ranger, this unique experience allows you to get up close to wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, elands, and the elusive dwarf mongoose. With no large predators in the park, it’s a peaceful yet thrilling way to connect with nature.
After the safari, you’ll begin your journey back to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for photos, a bite to eat, and some last-minute souvenir shopping. Your guide will aim to drop you at the airport between 5-6 PM, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure in Uganda.

- The driving time between each location can take anything from 5-9 hours. Even though it sounds long, the scenery is just mind-blowing and the energy in the car is electric from all the excitement of what is to come.
Yoga Sessions
Yoga sessions depend on the day’s activities and travel time. Since most mornings start quite early due to all the amazing activities on offer and also the best time to view wildlife, most yoga sessions will be in the afternoon. Sessions are a combination of pranayama, Yin, slow flows, dynamic Vinyasa flows, Hatha and guided meditations – The sounds of the surrounding forests promise a calming and meditative state that will benefit beginners to experienced students. – more about Marcel, your yoga teacher. Blocks and straps are provided, but please bring your own mat.
What To Expect While Trekking Gorillas
There is also no set route to visit the gorillas. They move around of their own free will, so the amount of time it will take to visit them can vary from under an hour to almost a full day depending on where they are and how long it takes the trackers to locate them.
Fitness Level for Trekking
Due to trekking through the dense forests in search of chimpanzees and gorillas, and trekking time taking anything from 2-8 hours, a fairly good level of fitness is required. Walking sticks can be hired at the park headquarters if needed.
